Besan Ladoo Recipe – How to make besan laddu

Besan Laddu is a very famous sweet made all over India. Also, this is a very simple and easy recipe specially made on festive occasion. I don’t want to lie but to make these delicious laddu’s you need to have a little patience, as you need to roast the besan on the low-medium flame and you need to keep stirring all the time till it gives nice nutty fragrance.

Serving: 10 laddu

Preparation Time: 30 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coarse besan/gram flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp any dry fruits(almond, cashew etc), coarsely powdered
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Direction:

  1. Firstly, heat 6 tsp ghee in a pan.
  2. Once the ghee is hot, add the besan and start stirring it.
  3. Make sure to break all the lumps and continuously stir it else the besan gets burnt unevenly.
  4. Keep stirring for 15-20 min till it gives the nice and strong aromatic nutty smell.
  5. Further, now add the remaining ghee in the pan and continue stirring it for it for 5-6 min more.
  6. Now switch off the flame and add the cardamom powder, coarse dry fruits powder, and powdered sugar.
  7. Mix all the ingredients nicely so no lumps are formed.
  8. After mixing nicely keep the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
  9. Furthermore, take the small amount of mixture in your hands and start pressing it and rolling it and make the Ladoo of your desired size.
  10. Repeat the same process for remaining mixture.
  11. Finally, Besan Laddus are ready to serve, you can store them in an airtight container.

3. Roast the besan till it turns into nice golden brown color and starts giving a nutty fragrance

4. Further, add the remaining ghee and stir it for 5-6 min more.

5. Also, add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, and coarse dry fruits powder into besan.

6. Start making laddu and store it in an airtight container.
